I’ve really wanted to like salad for a long time now. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’ll eat a salad every now and then, but it has to be covered in either creamy dressing, cheese, or fruit. I also have this complex about eating salads for meals. They’re just not filling! I’ll eat one on the side of a dinner, but never as an entire meal (unless it’s a Tropical Kale Salad)!
I’ve been looking for ways to force myself to eat salad, and I think I found a way! And it’s not even like I’m being forced to eat it. Top your salads with this dressing for a sweet and savory taste that compliments a bed of spinach, kale, onions, peppers, and more!
AGAVE VINAIGRETTE
Ingredients
1/2 cup olive oil
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
1 Tablespoon fresh parsley
1 Tablespoon Basil
2 Tablespoon Agave Nectar
1 Tablespoon fresh Cilantro, chopped
Directions
Whisk together oil, vinegar, parsley, and agave until blended.
Whisk in cilantro leaves.
Store in a mason jar in the refrigerator.
THE REVIEW
This dressing gives vegetables a roasted flavor, especially red peppers. The cilantro gives any salad a nice clean flavor while the oil makes it dense enough to fill you up. The agave nectar sweetens the dressing ever so slightly. The entire dressing sets off a fireworks show in your mouth! It’s full of flavor and will get anyone to want a salad.
If you must add some cheese, try Blue Cheese crumbles. The rich cheese with the hint of spicy cilantro really compliment one another.
